Re: All New "Where's the Pic?" for 2010

I love this thread :) Admittedly i only guess about 10% correctly of them. So in a dastardly bid to gain revenge on those who post heres my first few pics from the last couple of years in order of difficulty. To make it easy they are all within 75 miles of each other. Easiest.JPG Next one is slightl...

Re: Beinn Eighe (western summits)

I forgot my shoes once on a walk to the Falls of Glomach and had no choice but to wear trainers and after 10 minutes of walking we came up to a stream i slipped a little and both feet straight in... The rest of the 4 hour journey was done to a rythmic squelch squelch noise which my mates were annoye...

Re: The Lost World - Quiraing

Yeah, we hired a lodge in nearby Dornie in order to explore a bit of Torridon/Applecross/Skye and Kintail over the course of 7 days but we had only 2 decent days of weather :( I actually remember the week we went up and it was literally a batch of rain cloud above the region but most elsewhere was s...

The Lost World - Quiraing

Whilst up in and around Skye i read up about this place and knew their must be something special about it, the descriptions of weird, atmospheric and enticing beauty, to me was far to much temptation.... Dornie 2010 109.JPG The walk was initially supposed to be a full circuit however the weather was...

On a low battery - Sgurr Na Stri

This walk was initially suggested by my darling wife and only until i read about it i realised the potential. Red cuillins, Black Cuillins, the vast glen at Sligachan and then the panorama from the summit of Sgurr na Stri just a few reasons this walk could be a winner. :D Parking the car at the entr...

Where better to start off? - The Cobbler

Never done one of these before so ... ahem.. I had a various walks i could have chosen to write about but I think i should start at one of the most iconic mountains in Scotland, 'The Cobbler' (Ben Arthur) 2010-08-29 11.19.43.jpg This walk was really a staff day out for me and some colleague i dragge...
