Re: I guess it's an excuse to climb them again

Deportation? Are you planning a free trip to Rwanda as part of an East African walking holiday?

Re: I guess it's an excuse to climb them again

Chris We walked the BD4 on the 24th August and it started out claggy and midge infested but turned into something wonderful. A couple of photos:- The waterfall you walked above in Coire Lair and the big coire. For your information we met a group who had walked up the South ridge of Cona Meall and we...

Re: Affric circuit

Good advice which we will heed. We have a timetable from Rohan as a guide.

In the end if we turn around from BFh, and not do the 2nd ridge we'd have had a good walk

Re: Skye - Potholes

We had a a bad experience at the Quirang a few years back, hitting a deep pothole in a passing place and splitting the tyre so badly the repair kit didn't work. The trip with the recovery driver was very enlightening, he was very critical of the influx of camper vans which break up the weak roads an...

Re: Affric circuit

Thank you Rohan; a timetable will come in useful; we will not be skinny dipping in May.

Re: 2 Nutters in Glen Affric

Stuart

Excellent weather and an excellent video, very useful for the route between Fhiornlaidh and Dheiragain. A great route and beyond my ability, luckily we are walking from the hostel; hats off to the 2 nutters.

Re: Affric circuit

Chris Thanks for that, it might have been your report that gave me the idea in the first place. Can you remember how long to took you; noting you missed out (presumably deliberately) two of the Munro peaks. How was the crossing point you took, would it be difficult in all but dry conditions? I was t...

Re: Affric circuit

This is roughly the route we are attempting in Mid-May from the hostel. We hope to cross the stream East to West about 2Km further South than you have marked. I don't know when you plan to go be we are aiming for the 21st. If you go earlier please let us know how you get on; likewise if we go first ...

Re: Binnein Beag, Sgùrr Èilde Mòr and Binnein Mòr

We did them in the same order. the North ridge of Binnein Mor is steep and grassy and i think we wished we had done one of the others. We varied the obvious exit by walking off the ridge to the West and then down Allt Coire Na Ba, which seem a long route but easy going. Our report with map. https://...

Re: Bungay South Circular - castles, corn and cattle

Repeated on 31/3/23 but included the route from Earsham around the gravel pits and around the outside of the river loop (Bath Hills). Total 18.4 KM (11.4 miles) in 3Hrs 45 min. Day was damp with light showers, some tracks had running water but generally good underfoot. Lunch at Earsham cafe.
