Re: Galdhøpiggen, Norway, across a glacier.

Nice one  Never been to Norway yet, but hopefully one day.
Did you know that it's an ultra prominent peak? And a fairly easy one by the looks of it 8) Added to our to do list.

Re: Cuillin Scramble Help

It really depends on your comfort with exposure. We did it last year - me on a rope like a bad dog, Allison skipping along over the pinnacles without one, totally in her element. Just make sure it's a dry day  Here's a link to Scoob & Fi's video of that route, in case you haven't had a lo...

Re: Vancouver, BC, Canada

Ultra bagging?
Sounds like you'd need a 4wd though :? I'd suggest looking for hiking groups on Vancouver on facebook?

Re: Satmap GPS query!

Thought about getting one, but I'm using the Satmap10 I got in 2010, and the only problem I've ever had with that is the USB flap. If they weren't so expensive I might upgrade, but the 10 does everything I need and has, touch wood, never let me down. They still come with spare usb flaps! Pretty pat...

Re: WALKHIGHLANDS SUMMER MEET, RATAGAN. JULY 12/13 2019

There's currently a half baked idea about getting a boat across to Barrisdale Bay and climbing Ladhar Bheinn   It does sound a bit half baked. Interesting, but half baked! We done that a few weeks ago £35 straight across or £55 to Barrisdale. The route up Ladher Bheinn is steep ...

Re: GPS Recommendations

Thanks for the feedback, I was looking at both the 64s and the 66 and leaning towards the 64s from Go Outdoors when it boiled down to the price. :D The 66 is a great tool too, that's the one I have, If you're flush I'd get the 66 slightly bigger screen and a one touch record for starting to record ...

Re: GPS Recommendations

The GPSMAP 64s is a great bit of kit. Note you can get it for a shade £215 on Amazon without the Bundle, and then spend £45 to get the Discoverer Premium . The Discoverer Bundle has Landranger maps (1:50), the Premium has both Landranger plus plus Explorer maps (1:25). https://www.amazon.co.uk/Garm...
