A Day at Work- New River Gorge, WV-USA

To compliment my earlier TR about the Kaymoor Trail, thought I'd share this from today. I work as a river guide and kayak instructor here in the mountains of West Virginia. We primarily run two rivers here commercially, the New and Gauley. The New has the longer season, and where we are through the ...

Re: Kaymoor Trail, New River Gorge, WV-USA

Thanks for the positive reviews. I've lurked a bit enjoying the TR's, especially of Skye. I found this website after my trip there in '07. I've since used the site extensively in planning my upcoming trip in less than a week. :D So I thought I might give back a little bit. To Michelle, a lot of folk...

Kaymoor Trail, New River Gorge, WV-USA

This is one of my favorite walks in the New River Gorge of West Virginia, which is located in the Appalachain Mountains of the Eastern US. The area is well-known over here for the adventure sports of whitewater paddling and rock climbing, but there are also some great hikes. This one features a lot ...

Re: Hello from the states

As a Ship's Medical Officer I do have to advise you to pack in nursing, it's a thankless, dead-end job! While in Skye you must paddle around Staffin Bay, with great views to the Quiraing and out to sea to the north west highlands, Isle of Raasay, Isle of Rhona, etc. And of course Elgol to Coruisg w...

Hello from the states

I visited Skye in July of '07 with some friends to do a bit of sightseeing, walking, drinking, and a bit of scrambling. We are returning this summer in early August. Looking forward to the trip. This site has been very helpful in route selection. I am from the Virginia Highlands, part of the Appalac...
