Re: Steve Perry

It's a good TGO article. For the benefit of anyone who isn't aware, Steve Perry tragically died together with Andy Nisbet in an accident on Ben Hope in 2019.

Re: Android 14 One UI 6 Compatiblity

That’s odd. The app is a new type of app that is non platform specific - it can be installed even on Windows, macOS and ChromeOS (though that may be pointless!) We’ve also got Android 14. Would be keen to get a screenshot of the message or hear if you have any issues - is everything working as normal?

Re: Walk Highlands App

This message means at some point Walkhighlands was denied access to your gps location. There's a help file that explains how to fix: https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/faq.php#nolocation Your device must have a GPS inside it in order to show location accurately, and you must give permission for this to...

Re: News pages not working?

This sounds like a corrupt cache file on your browser. Try clear the cache / history (note that if you are on Android this also deletes any downloaded walks in your app)

Re: Loch lochy munros

F&LS say it is possible to access if you continue further west and then head up through the area replanted by the burn.

Re: Loch lochy munros

Just a heads up that the route is currently completely blocked by fallen trees - see the warning on our route guide.

Emojis

Since moving to our new server, it hasn’t been possible to add emojis (other than the Walkhighlands built in ones) to posts.

You should now be able to add any emojis from your phone etc without triggering errors. 🦫☕️🥳

Re: Simple question please

When posting a report, there's a box to tick near the top that marks it as a diary note - this means it doesn't appear on the forum or on the hill pages. It can still be seen on your walk diary page though (it isn't private)

Re: Loch lochy munros

There is always parking there provided for hillwalkers; most of the works have now moved further west and our description was updated just before Xmas.

Re: The Furths

Thanks - the ones in England and Wales are already included as they are all also in the Hewitts list. We've no plans to cover Ireland.

Re: Technology and do I need to be careful?

Just a reminder that the Walkhighlands app also shows your location on downloaded route maps, is free with no subscriptions, drains less phone battery than other apps as it uses a different technology (PWA), and includes Mountaineering Scotland's messaging on tech safety. It also saves the faff of d...

Re: Wainwright’s Outlying Fells

There is some confusion as to the list - some say there are 56. We've no plans to add to the confusion.
