Deer Fence on the way to Creag Mhor (Gen Lochay)

route756514495.gpx Hi all, Bagged Creag Mhor and Beinn Heasgarnich yesterday and yet again came across land owners not caring about access to the countryside. On the route above you'll see I had a little wander between the 540 and 560m contour lines on the way up Creag Mhor from the top Hydro acces...

Dogs Day out in the Black Mount

route710520973.gpx Mmmm hooman dad is up early this morning. Usually hooman mum sends me up to wake him up which he doesn't really like despite me cleaning his face before he gets out of bed. Hoomans are strange....... Wait a minute, hooman dad is in his funny walking gear and has his funny walking...

Finally getting a weather break in Torridon

route721233061.gpx So the cunning plan was as follows: 1. Confirm annual leave for May, statistically the driest month in Torridon. 2. Book a cottage for a week for the wife, me, two friends and the Mountain Mutt. 3. Bag loads of munros having been given the go ahead by the wife to "do what I ...

Re: The pathless Munros- a nightmare perfection in Glen Doch

These are two of my least favourite munros. I had planed to do two in one day a few years back but as I approached the summit of Sgiath Chuil the Mountain Mutt raced off after something and I lost sight of him. I had to end up calling my soon to be wife, tell her I'd lost the dog and get her to make...

Keen to start the 2015 Season

route686929818.gpx At last the white stuff was receeding and it was time for my much delayed return to Munro bagging. Mount Keen had been the plan for Sunday 12th April however thanks to the return of winter that weekend it had to be delayed. Don't get me wrong I like snow, I just prefer being towe...

Re: Sunrise in Torridon

If it was me there would be only one choice and that's Ben Alligin the views are stunning I had thought about that as it is literally at the back of the cottage I've rented but was thinking of something so I had a view of all 3 of the ridge walks. Maybe I could just crawl out of my bed early on two...

Sunrise in Torridon

Going to Torridon for a week in May and thinking of summiting one of the Munros before sunrise to get some shots of the mountains in their morning glory  Thinking of doing either Fionn Bheinn or Maol Chean-dearg. Anyone got any experience of this / opinions / alternatives to get the best views...

Re: Snow-Rock-Ice Liathach - my 200th Munro

What a way to claim your 200th Munro! Great report and pics. Can't wait to do this in the summer. In your opinion would my border (mountain) collie be able to do this or will I have to convince the wife to look after him for the day?

Re: Once is not enough: Magic in Torridon

Wow what a spectacular report. The pictures are utterly amazing! I've just booked a cottage on the shores of Upper Loch Torridon for a week in May next year and can only hope I get weather like this. Well done!

Re: Following in Danny MacAskill's Steps on the Cuillin

Great report and pics. I was at the In Pinn and did some of the ridge before I knew about the obsession that is Munro Bagging. Need to go back and do it all again and this looks like a great route. Think I came up the scree to the In Pin that day as I remember taking one step forward to slide back t...

Re: Private Pile, get off Nature's Assault Course!!!

Aonach Eagach next? Been trying to build up the confidence for that for years. Keep on saying next year lol. If I can find someone crazy enough to do with me I'll do it. Thanks fifeflyer. From the bridge onwards it just felt like an absolute assault course so came up with the idea while I was walki...
