Re: Car parking.

I understand that Bayfield carpark (the big one near the YH) in Portree is about to get parking charges - might be an option to park at Broadford and bus to the start

Re: Beware of route changes!

The route was changed on Walkhighlands late 2018 to reflect the diversion around the back of this house - our understanding is that the Council's Access Officer had approved the diversion. Our guide should be up to date and it's still a lovely route. There is a layby opposite the car park if the lat...

Re: Walkhighlands forum now advert-free

Thanks for all the support and donations - it's much appreciated. There is the option on the Donate page to make a one-off payment by card - our preference for direct debit is to keep finance charges low and to be able to make decisions about the sustainability of the whole site in the future based ...

Re: Pap of Glencoe

Hi Started-late Just to emphasise Arthurs Eat's comment - you really do need to take a map and compass on this route. We've had people contact Walkhighlands to say how difficult and dangerous this route is and that the path was very hard to find - everyone's experience and perceptions are different,...

Re: crichton's cairn demolished

when we were last up Fuar Tholl earlier this year, there was only a tiny bit of the trig point remaining inside the shelter cairn, see WH description, trig points on many hills are often pretty old and sucumbing to the weather over time

Re: Carnoch Bridge

Hi Lars

Yes, it's correct that the new bridge is not yet in place - we will update as soon the work is completed, but for the time being you need to plan for no bridge.

Re: Trump Turnberry?!

Just for info - these are automated ads served by Google, we can and do block offensive categories but I don't think this could include a golf course.
