There’s also been some suggestion from Fogle that Pendleton struggled with the altitude on some of the mountains they climbed as a part of their training.

I also immediately thought “surely not”, but the 21% figure is quoted on Fogle’s Instagram and he described the reading as “that’s nearly dead” suggesting that it’s not a typo and they knew how serious the situation was. Who really knows though, I guess we’ll need to wait to hear the full story.
