Thanks, agentmancuso . Great images. here are some of the ones that I managed to take today between gasping for air! http://i974.photobucket.com/albums/ae225/somhairle/DSCN0713cruachtarbeirt.jpg http://i974.photobucket.com/albums/ae225/somhairle/DSCN0712cruachtarbeirt.jpg http://i974.photobucket.com...

Cruach Tairbeirt

Well, for some years I have found the motivation to get out on the hills difficult. I can blame age, health, work.........laziness. A whole load of reasons but the simple fact is that, I find it difficult to just get out there. Now just in case you think I have always been this way, look at my Munro...

Re: Sutherland trail, go or no.

Thanks, Paul. I've just heard about the programme on the Skye Trail - going out under the Adventure Show title.

Re: Mysterious Stones

Many thanks, wandererjon . This is precisely the stone (or one of them!). I had checked an old OS map from the 19th century and had established that it was not the district or parish boundary but had not thought that it could have been an estate boundary. Great stuff! I first noticed the stone aroun...

Mysterious Stones

I was walking in the Kilpatrick Hills today and came across a strange stone (granite?) block on the hill. It is app 1 metre square and has some lettering on 3 of the 4 sides. On one side it has the letters L B and on the other 2 it has the letter B. The letters are an old style serif font. The stone...

Re: Real Monarch of the Glen

Many thanks, Paul for reporting this to us. It is heartening to hear that John Mackenzie got himself involved. But knowing how seriously John takes his responsibilities, it is not surprising.......good on you Earl! It would be interesting to know how the neighbouring estate owners feel about the pre...

Re: Real Monarch of the Glen

The grid ref for the first image does match a building on the OS Map. So unless canisp saw another building close to it, it does suggest that it is the conversion of an original building.

Re: Real Monarch of the Glen

Thanks for all that, papagenos . Very useful and interesting and if you do make your trip to Alladale, please feed back to us. It may be that this series backfires on Lister. He clearly thinks that most of us will be behind him in his effort to reintroduce some wild species to the area but the progr...

Re: Real Monarch of the Glen

I have been following this series since it started and it is clear that Lister is doing this only to create a private and restricted area of Scotland for himself and his affluent friends. The fence is clearly obtrusive and I really did wonder how the officials did not consider it to be so. I am not ...

Re: NEW 3D MAP - beta - FEEDBACK WANTED

Good news about the plug-in!

No, nothing to do with the site! I've just entered my Munros and was 2 short from my list. I had missed Beinn Liath Mhor Fannich -- so I have found one! Now I just need to find which other one I have missed out. It is probably my counting/memory :?

Re: NEW 3D MAP - beta - FEEDBACK WANTED

Seems great, but for us Mac users, the feature won't work until Google make a plug-in available :(

Hmmmm, I've just noticed that I've lost 2 Munros from my total, d'oh! :?

Very Impressed!

really impressed by the site. It seems pretty comprehensive and I can imagine that it has great potential.

I assume that the intention is to expand the site to cover the other areas not currently 'live'.
