Re: Bin of Cullen

Great stuff - a hill pretty local to me but I've yet to climb it; every time I go to Cullen there's a sea kayak on top of my car!

Really like the images with the hill's shadow, looks like you had a super day for it

Kind regards

Re: The Buck and a visit to Alford Transport Museum

Hi Johnny, did you find the Pictish symbol incised into the rock near the summit? The Buck is an ace viewpoint, perhaps at it's best when everything is frozen solid  PS - Your last three reports are making me very jealous; I live just outside Alford and am in the middle of a four month spell o...

Re: Clachet Traverse Max

Hi Pondbug, What a super outing! the Blackmount is a really great bit of hill country. As Dave points out, there's no allowance in Naismith for descent, even when it's pretty vertiginous..... I've long since given up on book timings as a guide for my own walks, I always find some viewpoint of intere...

Re: Orca

Superb, what a treat!

that looks very much like two separate animals - I think the first image is of an adult male; taller dorsal fin and a different shape from that of the second image? Double treat!

Re: Exploring the Strathdon area

Great stuff!

Ben Newe is a terrific little hill, and as you've shown, has excellent and varied views - another of those little 'uns with big skies..... :)

Re: Webtogs Walk Report Winners - July

Wow, thank you so much!

Thanks to all who commented on the report, it's great to read that it was of interest :D

Ailsa Craig is an amazing place; if you can get there do it in early summer for the birds and the stunning display of bluebells on the steep slopes

Kind Regards

Re: Ailsa Craig - big air and deep water

Again, thanks all for your kind comments :) Graeme - you should do it! Pick a day with the best possible forecast, allow 2H 45min each way to paddle, 3 hours to explore and climb the hill and at least an hour for the circumnavigation. the trip gets the most challenging (of three) grades in the sea k...

Re: Ailsa Craig - big air and deep water

Thanks all for your kind comments :) Ailsa Craig is a really quite remarkable place. If you're able to kayak out, climb th hill and do the circumnavigation it's one of the most amazing journeys anywhere in the UK. I believe that MFV Glorious' skipper (Mr McCrindle) can do "bespoke" trips w...
