Re: Cloud Inversion on Ben Lomond

Days like that live long in the memory. I was on Ben Vane as well, just across the way, and the inversion to the south was very atmospheric.

Re: Ben Vane - the wee nutter...

I can only envy you living so close that you can nip up for a couple of hills now and then Hi Andy, it's still a 540 mile round trip "nip up" to this area for me, but on days like that every yard is worth it..! Keep in touch, and don't pass up a bottle of GlenFarclas 105 if you get the ch...

Ben Vane - the wee nutter...

Having climbed Ben More and Stob Binnnein the previous day, I opted for what I thought foolishly would be an easier hill for the Sunday, something I could knock off on the way home.... what a stupid g*t am I. As I've mentioned chatting elsewhere, it may be the smallest (?) Munro, but if Munros were ...

Ben More, Stob Binnein & the Gone Girl....

A pitiful 11 weeks after my last trip up north I finally got away for a couple of nights in Crianlarich last weekend, and the weather Gods - they smiled. Ben More was the plan. From the B&B car park things looked promising. It had been suggested that going round the route the opposite way might ...

Re: schiehallion path

Almost worth starting a new thread "Worst boulder field", my starter-for-ten would be coming off the summit of Ruadh Stac Mohr in Fisherfiled, spirit breaking (or maybe I'd just gone the wrong way again..)

Re: Corrour 7 over 2 days - a test of character and hardship

You need help Maja. This is self harming As a medical man, I think I'd downgrade the diagnosis to "pleasantly potty", in the full knowledge that it's highly contagious, and we've all got it to a degree, whether just as carriers and or as full blown sufferers.. Maybe you'd have felt a litt...

Re: Beinn Chabhair and Beinn A'Chroin from the dry side!

Aaargh! Stumbled hurriedly on, knees rapidly turning to jelly, talking to myself. I've noticed that I tend to do that when I'm tired - I talk out loud, to thin air. Sometimes I sing. Please, somebody else admit to that too, stop me feeling like some sort of special case? Oh no you're not! Trudging ...
