Re: Private Pile, get off Nature's Assault Course!!!

Aonach Eagach next? Been trying to build up the confidence for that for years. Keep on saying next year lol. If I can find someone crazy enough to do with me I'll do it. Thanks fifeflyer. From the bridge onwards it just felt like an absolute assault course so came up with the idea while I was walki...

Boots on the ground

Popular phrase over the past week but looking for opinions on boots. Having had many pairs of synthetic boots over the years I find myself questioning their value for money. I do cover a lot of miles between munro bagging and general winter use but I always find the waterproofing gives up long befor...

Re: Aonach Eagach

I'm 100 munros in and still have the fear of this route. Every year I say I'll do it but never have the guts / crazy enough climbing buddies to try it. Have you done the Forcan Ridge, CMD arete or RIng of Steall? If so how does it compare to these? Great pics by the way.

Re: Ring of Steall and Friends

Planning on doing the Ring on the first weekend in Oct with my fellow mountain goat Big Thommo. Didn't realise you can add in two extra as we were only aiming for the traditional four. He'll hate me (and you!) now for putting ideas into my head again about how many summits we could bag in a day.

Re: By popular demand...it's Bidean nam Bian!

Great pics. Bidean is my favourite munro. Not been there for a few years and usually tackle it from the Lost Valley asscent. I love the serenity when you are on the bealach at the back of the Lost Valley.

Re: The roof of Skye - Alasdair, Dubh Mor and Eag

Great report and amazing pictures. Lost my mojo for the hills recently, after reading that I'm now feeling to need to start hitting the summits again. :D

Joining the 100 club on the South Glen Shiel Ridge

Track_2014-07-26 192245.gpx Last summer I was defeated in my attempt to do The Saddle, Sgurr na Sgine and the South Glen Shiel Ridge in one day. That gave me renewed focus and I decided to return this year to complete the ridge and make the last Munro my 100th. Thankfully the weather this summer ha...

Re: A different way to do Drumochter Munros

Thanks for all the replies guys. I ended up doing it as two seperate hikes. Did Beinn Uldamein route first then jumped into the car, drive up the A9 to Layby 87 and did the Carn na Caim route. Took under 4 hours for each. :) Rockhopper I'd looked at Steve Fallons route but having tried one of his be...

A different way to do Drumochter Munros

Hi all Few years back I bagged Geal Charn and A'Mharconaich. Why I didn't continue on that day to complete the western 4 I don't know. Planning on getting the other 4 in the bag tomorrow and the route I'm thinking of is following the Walk Highlands circular route to get Sgairneach Mhor and Beinn Udl...

Re: Just in time in Glen Shiel

Great report. Planning on doing the ridge in the last weekend in July and am going to share this with my group to ease some of their worries. In your opinion is it suitable for dogs? I have a very mountain smart Border Collie who has done about 15 munros with me and I was hoping to take him along fo...

One man and his Collie take on Beinn a'Bheithir

Sgorr_Dhearg_and_Sgorr_Dhonuill.gpx I'd been eyeing up this route for a while but was waiting for the perfect weather so the views weren't spoiled. This day was forecast to be perfect in the west so the dog and I loaded up the car and set off. By the time we got to Ballachulish it was already a bak...

Ben Lui (My nemesis) and his brothers

Ben_Lui__Beinn_a__Chleibh__Ben_Oss_and_Beinn_Dubhchraig.gpx I'd had three previous attempts at Ben Lui, all of which ended in failure. Once the dog gave up on me (yet had the energy to chase deer on the way back down), once the weather beat me and my final attempt my common sense left me and I deci...
