Re: 3 boring Beinns from Linn of Dee

Totally agree on the forests Mrs Santa. Could've spent the entire day in there exploring.

Re: 3 boring Beinns from Linn of Dee

You have an unusual outlook on life if you think these hills are boring but then I see you went for the swift tick on Beinn a'Bhuird which misses out one of the grandest corries in scotland. Each to their own Prog99. I much prefer scrambling around the western Munros than trudging over moors. It's ...

3 boring Beinns from Linn of Dee

Track_2017-06-17 182008.gpx This weekend was supposed to confirm Big Tommo and I as true Mountain Goats by completing the Mullardoch 12 in a day. The weather was decidedly pants over the north west though, we didn't want to waste a rare weekend off together, decided east was best and headed to Linn...

Meall Chuaich - A worthwhile quickie.

Track_2017-05-26 145416.gpx The original plan for Friday was to head up to Laggan for Creag Pitridh and its neighbours however work, as ever, got in the way and an 11pm finish turned into a 1am finish so there was no way I was getting out of bed for 6am. I only had one day free this weekend to go d...

Re: My Fisherfield humiliation

Great report, pictures are amazing and those huge slabs of rock are something else! I would be one of the ones totally missing out on that and just doing the round but now I think I'll need to factor that in when I eventually get up to Fisherfield. Everyone has had a trouser malfunction at some stag...

Beinn Dearg (Blair Atholl) bike 'n' hike

Track_2017-05-17 153539.gpx Having had a navigational error last time I was in Glen Tilt and bagging Carn a'Chlamain when I was aiming for Beinn Dearg, I headed back to the Glen Tilt car park, armed with a better sense of direction, for another Perthshire bike 'n' hike. This time I was accompanied ...

Re: "Hill-walking is great, except for the ups and downs"

Lee and I's better halves had already pointed out the colour coordination! Think we need to talk wardrobes before we head off for our next WH weekend. Mountain Mutt was done in after the weekend and spent the next two days sleeping! He thanks everyone for being so nice to him, especially Jim a...

Re: Two vegans up Meall Buidhe & Stuchd an Lochain

Good video and pics. You might be fighting a losing battle with the healthy lifestyle thing though. Most hill people are alcoholics who live on junk food.................. or is that just me? PS is Mr Spock the most famous Vegan ever? :D The amount of calories you burn hill walking I think ...

Re: Bike 'n' hike, the way forward!

There are loads of possibilities John. Linn of Dee to Geldie Lodge for An Sgarsoch and Carn an Fhidhleir, Glen Callater for Lochnagar, Linn Of Dee to Derry Lodge for the southern cairngorms, Glen Affric to Altbeithe for the munros there, Craig up to Slugain Lodge, Cheers Guinessman. I'll add them t...

Re: Enter the Cairngorms - Jaxter Style

You're mental! I feel the same about the Cairngorms and the only ones that appeal are the Devils Point ridge as they are all in the top 10. May hit a few of these with the aid of the bike this year.

Re: Bike 'n' hike, the way forward!

Nice one dude - I've always felt totally uninspired by these two, but there's a Corbett around there somewhere too so was thinking about linking that in. Biking adds an extra dimension though doesn't it  :D Corbett? What's a Corbett? lol. Biking is def the way to do these. My feet were lou...

Bike 'n' hike, the way forward!

Track_2017-04-05 135334.gpx **Discalimer - Only for munros with long, gradual walk ins!** That's me out and about for 2017 and I'd been looking at the two from Old Bridge of Tilt for bike 'n' hikes for a while. Today it was time to see if it would be advantageous. First dilemma was what to wear. Us...
