What is this bird?

Hi All Apologies for the poor quality but this is the first time I've tried to photograph this bird, and it flew off when I tried to get a close-up. What is it?!!! It's been in and around my garden for about a month now. I live in the city centre but I'm right next to Glasgow Green and the River Cly...

Damn, he never got the one with Janet's arms flailing!! :) Oops I've got that one!! :D Pure cheek! :o Big thanks to Jim for the loan of a walking pole to steady myself carrying a heavy sack on my back (those Black Diamond poles are just the job, ordered a pair), and to stop my arms from flailing :D...

A couple of my friends booked lunch rather than dinner there. It wasn't as expensive and they still got to enjoy the experience and food.

And yes you're right, it wasn't them arriving by helicopter!!!
