Re: Ben More and Stob Binnein Trek

NIce one!! I like the second pic and of course the one you have filtered is fab! :D It looks like a bloody hard slog up Ben More side. I did these two from Inverlochlarig and it was steep, but gets you up quicker

Re: Will ye Go Lassie Go - Bros & Sunny Soul Sisters

This looks very similar to the day I had out on the ridge a couple of weeks earlier :) . Great walk and nice photos. I find the quieter the road is, the more chance you have of getting a lift off the cars that do pass....sometimes  Thank you! maybe it was the wild hair I had that was put...

Re: Dogs climb Ben Nevis to find cellists playing at top!

Wow! I really enjoyed reading this! What a story! Dogs raising money for charity, a 60th birthday and what would you know a wee treat on the summit with the Cellists! Fabbydoo! I've yet to climb Ben Nevis and will do via the arête, but you've really started to whet my appetite for it - thanks and we...

Re: Beinn a' Ghlorious

...curving ridges and sweeping flanks.... are you sure you are talking about the hills? Seriously, looks great! I saw absolutely nothing on these 3. It was a wet miserable day, then I hit the bog too..... Maybe one day I will go back. Thanks for sharing :D

Re: A little ray of Sunshine - Maol Chinn-Dearg

Looks lovely Dawn! I will def take your advice and may just head there with the tent sometime for a wee night under the stars. Cracking pics! That whole area is just stunning. We were on Gairich the other week and got an idea of what this gem of a place looks like. Hoping to be back up that way soo...

Re: How windy is too windy?

I absolutely hate the wind and after an uplifting experience in the Cairngorms that i will never forget, i will not venture out in high winds if it's more than 40mph. If I was going alone, I wouldn't bother at all to be honest. It really frightens me. But something you should also be t...

Re: In-spectre Bidean (Now with photo's!)

Fabtastic!! Glencoe is an amazing place for photos - everything is so rugged and beautiful. I too thought dinosaurs would emerge from the Lost Valley - it's an amazing area. I'll need to go back - it's been such a long time! :D Well done - I'm well jealous of your broken spectre - I think you've cap...

Re: A braw day in the Angus Glens

These are two lovely hills. I went up in winter when the stags were targets in the glen - that was incredible hearing a gunshot within close range and watching a stag stagger and drop dead almost right in front of my eyes. It was a surreal day with glorious sunshine, bitterly cold winds and the occa...

Re: Will ye Go Lassie Go - Bros & Sunny Soul Sisters

Well done Dawn you hardcore gal! Enjoyed your report. I keep seeing pics of people camping and wondered how you keep warm at this time of year! Taking heaps of duvets definitely sounds like a good idea! Loved the bit about you singing at the top of the hill ..and why not ay?! Bet you felt gr...

Thanks folks - it was a real treat for me :D Lovely wee hill. I'd most certainly go back up it and those who know me, know I'm not one for repeating hills, unless they're great!

AnnieMacD wrote:Fantastic report and achievement! I too worry about walking back to the car along the narrow, quiet roads, so try to avoid it. Great that you got a lift, though.

Thanks Annie!! I forgot it was Monday and I guess the roads would have been quieter than compared with the weekend. I was lucky! 8)

Re: Will ye Go Lassie Go - Bros & Sunny Soul Sisters

Great report - from the number of layers to keep warm in the tent to the magnificent views you got. Yes that return road walk is a bummer if you don't get a lift. My pal (male) tried to thumb a lift for 45 minutes to go and get the car to bring back but no success and then within 5 mins of me tryin...
