Re: Otters and stange creatures under the Connel Bridge

I would suspect the strange things under the bridge are no other than the common human being, often spotted doing strange things that have no logical explanation. Could be bird nesting! the cormorants that lived on/under Ballachulish Bridge have been cleaned out, or shot on fish cages, but they hav...

Re: West Highland Way April 2017

A great account of your adventures and some achievement though the bit about folk from Paisley taking drugs was a bit far fetched. :D
It's great to go out walking in good company I do it often as I can, but also like Alteknacker I like being out solo and do that often too.
All the best. :D

Ospreys

We had a wander near the Insh marshes and later around part of Loch Insh on Monday and a pair of Ospreys put on a bit of a display of flying, fishing and fighting crows. Hard to get decent action shots or any for that matter but great to witness. :D osprey 002.JPG Zoomed 2017-04-24 001 122.JPG And a...

Re: Bridge closure at Knock

For folk going to Mull to climb Ben More by the standard route if you are arriving on Mull at Craignure where most visitors arrive, it's not that much longer a drive down through Glen More and over the top to Loch Na Keal and I would say a more scenic route. :D

Re: Two vegans up Meall Buidhe & Stuchd an Lochain

Good video and pics. You might be fighting a losing battle with the healthy lifestyle thing though.

Re: Bidein a Choire Sheasgaich and Lurg Mhor

I cycled in from Attadale up to the river just past Bendronaig. Didn't go round to loch Calavie but straight up Bidein a Choire Sheasgaich head on, then on to Lurg Mhor back down to the bealach and down to the loch then a short walk and long cycle out with a fair bit of uphill section to start with....

Re: Glen Dee path by bike And Dee crossing

I've cycled all these paths as far as practical. The cycle as far as the Luibeg Burn is fairly straightforward and the quickest way. The cycle up the west bank of the Dee from White bridge is on a path full of drainage ditches and I found it quite hard. After the baggers path for Beinn Bhrotain and ...

Re: Beinn Chabhair is the worst

I quite like Beinn Chabhair. Mainly cos I like staying at Beinglas Farm campsite. It has a good bar and also there is The Drovers nearby. Last year I went up after a dry spell and it was ok apart from one knee deep plunge. Don't like the new hydro scheme much though :( Good laugh in the bar at night...
