A marvellous set of photos :D the rock formation in your last two shots is amazing.
I visited Brimham Rocks once as a youngster many years ago, no camera then but remember it as a special almost magical place, must get back there and soon.

A marvellous set of photos from my local hills, especially like the first two :D. For me sitting on a hill top watching the sunset is one of the greatest pleasures in life, almost magical, i envy you that one.

......You can use it like an ice axe if your in the snow...... I hope you mean in the sense that it can be used to steady yourself when walking on a flat surface. On a slope if you slip and start to slide out of control a walking pole would be next to useless, an ice axe properly used gives you the...

I’d say the amount of effort to climb Mayar and Driesh would be about the same as Ben Lomond. With Mayar and Driesh there is slightly less total height to gain because of a higher starting point, but a little more distance to do.
