Never disappoints.

Stac Pollaidh bealach sunrise viewpoint

Wasn't feeling up to a long walk in the cold so decided on a short walk to the Stac Pollaidh bealach to try to get some sunrise photos. Quite icy in the car park so I put on microspikes just to avoid the fun of spotting icy patches in the dark. Probably unnecessary but I liked having a little bit o...

Re: 32/222 Beinn Enaiglair & 15/219 Meall Doire Faid

Sounds like hard going and a bit cold but worth it for some good views there.

Re: Ocean and Islands from Ceapabhal on Harris

Thank you for transporting us across to Harris. My visits there might only be vicarious now but there's vicarious and there's vicarious -a good description makes all the difference!. I managed to avoid the path twice, first time round out of perceiving the northern slope to be the easy option in a w...

Beinn Enaiglair

I made my plan for a longer walk further north to Meall nan Ceapraichean but was then confronted with the reality of a slowing drive in the cold to an icy car park. I had second thoughts. I retreated to Braemore junction with the thought that Beinn Enaiglair would provide a shorter walk that I'd co...

Ben Rinnes

Just trying to keep myself ticking over with a bit of exercise. Didn't quite get the morning mists I was hoping for but still a pleasant walk. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/ADCreHeBvFTlDfl5WR9v1ccm2wyHHsFVFSCD2yMELjplEoOXDMc8XW8g7OkE36pEp0EsXbsJGyoMtpWBlgCISQXvqaCQCBSV1qe-VxInQ9gqrE_eXjEuWTC...

Re: Carn Chois

Had to look up the name of this hill a I didn't recognise it initially - good result and hope your ankle's improving - cheers :) Thanks. Got physio exercises to do and I did survive this walk ok but it will be slow progress back to harder walks I think. I hope you are over your own ankle troubles? ...

Carn Chois

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvfNZ3S6hyY I was trying to think of or find a hill to climb that would afford an easy descent and fit with the weather forecast. I eventually decided on Carn Chois as it seemed to have a good track most of the way up, at least going by Bing maps. I set off later than...

Re: Will I or won't I on the Pap of Glencoe?

Nice! Good to get an Autumn colour walk in. A pity about the eroded stretches of path but, as you say, poles are certainly useful for descent.
