Re: Glenfinnan parking

Yes that one towards the viaduct, you've now got to park at the NTS car park a little way south - but there is a new car park planned (for the middle area) but completion timescale isn't known yet as far as I'm aware

Re: Walking route to Stac a'Phris Arch, Lewis

OS Map attached to the Walkhighlands route description should help - the arch is not far from the marked route and as far as I remember there would be no issue with just working your way closer to the cliff edge - the line in the route description was taken in order to stick to the easier ground, av...

Re: Using trains or buses to access walks

It's true that there is little public transport in some parts of the Highlands, but Walkhighlands features over a thousand walks reachable by some form of public transport. All walks have a public transport section which should also help planning. You can also use the Find a Walk search facility to ...

Re: Sotland's Watershed part 12 The Ups & Downs to Fionn Bhe

so enjoying your very non-"feeble crawlings" - looks like I just missed you on Bealach Bhearnais - also saw those trainers (probably still there I thought about taking them but wasn't sure if someone might come back) and I also got grumpy with the tangerine peel on the track - good luck wi...

Re: Winter walking advice

Yes, good advice. In snowy conditions this route is often banked out by snow and the very steep coire headwall makes it a notorious blackspot for avalanches. If conditions are ok for it you could try heading up the way this WH route description comes down and just go up and down the same way - click...
