It looks flipping scary, as the "nose" would be extremely exposed and difficult. However, there's an easy enough little scrambly path on the east side a few yards away. Not that obvious if descending this way though, as we found out!

Re: 'Perfect' fuel to carry for bothy fires

I have yet to visit Feith Uaine but Allt Schiecheachan has a new fireplace. Stayed there a few months ago and it was toasty warm. We carried in lots of fuel and only needed a fraction. But then we did carry in lots of coal which isn't the best weight-wise! I have sometimes tried those peat lumps you...

Re: Please offer gear advice for a desert hiker headed your

Gaitors are invaluable if you are walking boggy ground. Definitely recommend a pair of waterproof boots and a reliable waterproof jacket. Don't forget to put your rucksack gear in dry bags, or get a decent rucksack cover.

Re: Creag nan Gabhar, Loch Callater and a sneaky Wee Wan

I did this walk the same day with my partner. You started earlier than us though and we didn't see you. It was a lovely walk indeed, especially on a day like that.
