Re: New Grahams!!!

As a trivia titbit, Deed Polls are not part of Scots Law, only English Common Law.

You can beg Holyrood to change your name, but in a lifetime you're only allowed to change your forename once.

Re: New Grahams!!!

It's all a clown-show in a circus. I'm sticking to 2020 Munros, Grahams, Donalds, and Hughs.

These separate-but-equal lists, with the recently printed new lists not even being the lists the new-list listers want listed, it's all a bit Monty Python.

If you go to BING Maps you can click the overlay to OS format (look for the button where it says road/dark/satellite/os)

Re: How has hillwalking changed?

The one thing that hasn't changed is my eating habits. I still take a flask of coffee, cheese/egg/ham sandwiches, pies/pasties, chocolate bars and biscuits. These have served me well for 50 years and I still look forward to tasty food and a hot drink. I've read lots of comments about calories/carbs...

It's telling of the failure of the education system that you see such as term as a vector of attack and not a badge of honour.

Unless the Victorian era began in the 13th century you appear to be at odds with the academic consensus on this one; it's that stage where pedigree breeds of horses start appearing in the literature.

Re: Stags

I reply that there are no dangerous animals in the UK apart from red deer stags(have to ask does the same apply to other spesies - Sika, for example?) during the rut. They're not wild animals, but you could mention cows too. There are many more direct fatalities from cows than deer per year, most o...

BING maps has 1:25K OS map coverage. Just click the map type button in the top right (road, dark, aerial, OS).

Re: Garmin inreach or similar - advice please

No but I had an early eTrex 10 and it would seem strange to be worse than that.

Re: GPX file

Tell us WHICH GPX file it was we can test to see if it is corrupted.

Then at least we'll know if it's the file at fault or something we need to figure out in your system.

Re: Garmin inreach or similar - advice please

I bought an explorer thinking an integrated GPS would be better however the screen is near useless and should have got the mini. Why is the screen useless? It's a fairly standard size of Garmin screen but with higher-res that previous years. Is it the screen at fault, your eyesight, lack of maps, w...

Re: Gear Review: Dehydrated Backpacking Meals

A solid start to the day is one baggie of instant porridge spiked with a good handful of a fruit muesli. Adds that welcome extra volume but a bit of variety too, the dried fruits rehydrate and become scrumptious.

Re: Munro parking coordinates (.shp ou .kmz)

I've found all the coordinates in a pretty old post on the forum, but no GIS file yet... Don't be shy, let us know which post has these coordinates in and we might be able to convert them for you. Or you might be able to convert them for yourself. https://products.aspose.app/gis/en/conversion/gpx-t...
