Re: Name that Corrie!

Bit of a wild guess, but could this be looking up Loch Duich towards Glen Shiel? In which case the corrie on the right might be Coire Toiteil, between the south Glen Shiel Ridge and Sgurr na Sgine? Tim Yay! Correctamundo! Taken from near the wee hill road (Carr Brae) that goes from Dornie up the hi...

Re: Greetings from Holland

Hi there! Greetings from the Netherlands. After visiting Scandinavia and the Alps and doing some multi-day and long distance hikes there, I (finally) was able to visit Scotland last year and hiked the Skye trail - and was blown away by the landscape. Cannot wait to come back and discover more - I a...

Re: Beinne Bhuidhe conditions

I just checked the Glen Coe Mountain Resort ski place facebook site, they are reporting heavy snowfall overnight and improved ski conditions, so take your snowshoes. :D

Re: Beinne Bhuidhe conditions

I checked the traffic cameras on Traffic Scotland for the roads, there is no snow evident on the Rest and Be Thankful, nor on the road at Tyndrum, but there is a fair amount in the background , and more in Glen Coe, so I guess that at height there is more likliehood of wintery conditions. As ever in...

Re: The silliest sign you've seen on a walk?

A sign on Manly beach, Sydney. Not so silly really; when Ozzies say "Bluebottles" they don't mean annoying flies, they mean Portugese Man O' War!

Re: Name that Corrie!

Corrie Chadha Chaoruinn on the Ring of Steall, the Steall Falls in Glen Nevis being the recognisable and dramatic natural feature ?

p.s. very impressive picture!
