A slow walking club?

After a brush with the Big C and being a bit of an auld yin, I was thinking of getting back into the hills, not just yet, got to get fit again. I have been out with keen Munroe baggers/walking groups and they all seem in an indecent hurry to get to places. When fit I was carrying big cameras and len...

Not new......................

but I have been missing, a year last March I was diagnosed with cancer and had surgery to remove the tumour and part of a kidney, so along with further surgery to my prostate, hill walking has not been possible. I have had my third consecutive CT scan showing clear, so hope to bump into some of you ...

Re: Adder

You do find some things you lads................................ I had a pal some 30 years ago, ex special forces who when in a jungle they maybe should not have been in, were training some other troops how to survive and not get caught, raw snake was something they survived on, think I'd have skipp...

Re: Sparrowhawk having dinner

Nice work, I use my 550d for the light hill camera lol, I have an old 1d iv or a C100 mkii cine camera, which requires my wife working as a sherpa carrying the camera, whilst I carry the heavy tripod. :D

Re: Newbie!

I would have replied to this before, but been in hospital again. I would begin at the Glen Shee ski centre, there's munroes all around and importantly, usually lots of hill walkers to put you right Cairnwell and Carn Aosda are a couple of nice starters for you.

Re: Kids ond Munros

Stamina is the problem with my Grandsons, they fly up the hills, but tire on the way down, they just run empty, so I agree about the right food/drinks as well as promise of treats. They are both keen sports players, in judo and tennis teams, so not unfit, they have done some big hills too.

Re: Ardnamurchan Adder

Thanks chaps, normal to see them so close to the beach? This was amongst the grass about 100 yards from shore at Sanna. Not unusual if the right food source and environment, heathland with small mammals. ground nesting birds or lizards/frogs/toads etc. Round here I've not seen them by the shore, mo...
