Failure on Ben More so over to Beinn nan Imirean

The aim of the day was to do Ben More, but this was before i invested in crampons, got half way up and had to give up, so rather than have a wasted day i decided to give Beinn nan Imirean a go. It was a good choice as unlike Ben More the snow was soft and the hill not as steep and the sky was clear ...

Re: Mor Bheinn & Beinn Dearg

Graeme/Malky

You'll enjoy these two, they're a really good walk. I got a bit of a mixed day, so in good weather i think the views would be superb.

Mor Bheinn & Beinn Dearg

Parked up at entrance to the estate, just enough room for one car, then walked through the grounds along the track with the castle, Ben Halton and Mor Bheinn in view. our_route.gpx Feb 001.JPG Feb 002.JPG Feb 003.JPG I continued up the track for a kilometre or so then left the track at this point an...

A sunny winters day on the hills

our_route.gpx Started at parking spot 2km north of Glenshee ski centre and headed up towards Carn an Tuirc, though i wasn't going to the summit as i'd allready done it. The goal of the day was to bag Tolmount and Tom Buidhe as twice i had failed getting to them in a circuit due to bad weather, so i...

Meeting Herman Munster on Uamh Bheag

our_route.gpx Not one of the better walks this one, a bit of a plod, though worth it in the end as a smiling face awaited me at the summit. The wind farm you see from the M9/A9 Stirling area P1000400.JPG The trig point with summit in the distance with Stuc a' Chroin and Ben Vorlich P1000402.JPG Loo...

Re: Do You Carry Water?

I take 2 or 3 1litre bottles of diluted juice and a flask of boiling water with coffee sachets. If i run out, which i have on a few occassions i drink from the streams, thankfully i havn't got to the Bear Grill stage of having to drink my own urine
