Re: Lockdown wanderings - Braid Hills and Blackford Hill

I enjoyed your photos but missed out on seeing the Pentlands from Braid Hill, it's a fantastic viewpoint for them. Blackford Glen is just a magical place to go for a walk.

Re: Denfinella's lockdown birdlife diary

Nice to know there are so many small birds in your garden and i enjoyed looking at your photos of them. Twenty years ago i used to get almost the same variety in my garden but they have been gradually decimated by the magpies who have now taken over. I put food out every winter and the small birds h...

Re: A short distance long distance walk

Very nice, always enjoy seeing a local area through someone else's eyes. Sounds like you got a bit lost coming off Corstorphine Hill. If you keep on the hill path instead of coming off at Clermiston, you can walk through the woods to the exit directly onto Queensferry Road, then just cross the road ...

Re: Lockdown Walk - Edinburgh New Town

This is a great read, i just love the photos and all the history. Next time I'm up the town I'll be looking for all the things you have pointed out. The Playfair church is an amazing building, i never knew it was intended to block out the Academy School. I read something about Playfair once lining u...

That's what I've been doing, mainly in the garden. I've been pleasantly surprised at the amount of little things I've managed to record.

I've also been taking photos in the garden, as you say, it's the little things that are important :D

Re: My Daily Walk - Forth Estuary

Good to see the walks by a southern Firth. Crammond Island is somewhere I'd like to visit when we are free to move again. Many thanks :D . It is the Firth of Forth, I feel bad for saying the Forth Estuary now :( Unfortunately Cramond Island is nicer to look at than visit as large parts of the islan...

Re: My Daily Walk - Forth Estuary

Lovely swimming location RiverSong. Thanks for sharing, :D It does look good but much as i love swimming i wouldnt go in there, the Forth is very heavily polluted after years of being used for heavy industry. Having said that, there is a story told by the locals about the Cramond Ferryman who famou...

Re: My Daily Walk - Forth Estuary

Lovely to have that at the bottom of your garden. Thanks for sharing. I thought the golf course was your garden after scrolling on from the first few sentences! I agree, no reason not to take your "good" camera whilst exercising. Ha Ha! I wish! It just doesnt feel right, but i have been t...

Re: My Daily Walk - Forth Estuary

The photos look great to me. But why deny yourself the pleasure of 'playing around with the camera 'Thanks for the nice comment Dav, but as an NHS worker it just makes me uncomfortable to be taking photos at a time like this. What the photos dont show is the number of people who were also out walki...

Re: Walkhighlands forum now advert-free

The walk descriptions and maps are fantastic, and i get a huge amount of information from the site. I am more than happy to pay a monthly contribution.

Re: Go Outdoors bought by JD Sports

Don't think it matters much who owns it, the future of shopping is online and soon everything will be bought that way. :?

Re: Long distance walk stages.

Something very satisfying about being able to tick off the individual sections. Thanks very much for doing this Paul, appreciate the time and effort it takes you, all the best.
