helm and calf crag round

This was a quick little walk done after our drive up from the south of the country, although a bit of a tuffy in the weather we were having, 28 degrees with very little wind! We started at ghyll foot and followed the footpath up to steel fell, some good views up to borrow dale and over to helvelllyn...

thanks for that, some days you get the weather some days you don`t. we were in langdale last year great mountains and a great spot to lose yourself from the rat race!! I do have a walk report ,posted, plus piccys if you need any info

This was a mad dash!Train up from london at 0700 hrs with a change or two, got into windermere at 1100 hrs. Then a taxi to the start, we had a six hour window to complete the walk we had set befor ourselfs. This was also to include some fish and chips and a pint in the lake district!1815 train back ...

If you don't think Pavey Ark is interesting, you've not gone up by Jack's Rake - a fantastic scramble which goes diagonally across the huge crag behind Stickle Tarn. langdale pikes and more

this is a great walk for knocking off wainwrights and pike of stickle is the best summit of the day the rest ,although the views are great, are quite uninteresting for their lack of features but if you come down via the stickle tarn barn there is quite a good selection of ale

this turned into a mere training walk as the vis was down to just 20 or 30 meters and the rain was quite hard at times so i went for it to see how fast i could do it with a 20 min stop for munches.Only problem was i got bitten to shreds by midges whilst waiting for the rest at the car. no photograph...
