An Indian summer in Torridon.

An Indian summer in Torridon.

Quite different in The Cairngorms yesterday. :) My daughter Mel sent me a couple of images of her day out in Torridon.
The images of her and the Dingo appear to be on Beinn Alligin. With the Loch between Alligin and Baosbhien showing in one image.

Beautiful day on Saturday in the west. I was in Glencoe and the weather was stunning.

We were on Alligin today: weather was an unexpected treat. Mild and sunny, with the hills only a few miles further east and south clagged in all day.

I was in Glen Lyon with the kid, teaching him how to roar like a stag, and listen to the stags roaring back. Unfortunately an accident on the A82 made for a detour via Inveraray and Loch Awe but at least we saw some scenery. I had hoped to practice archery with him at Fionn's Rock in Glen Lyon but due to the long detour we didn't have time. It was a chill wind in Glen Lyon, very autumnal now.

A little less summery further up the glen on Sunday the following day. Sgurr Dubh was the choice for that day. Never been to the hill by the way chosen...our own way was up the fine path from the Ling Cottage to reach both Corbetts from the South.
Looks as if the approach for Mel was from up the road from the car park for Beinn Eighe and then more directly to Sgurr Dubh.

Yes, quite a contrast between the two ends of the glen yesterday. The cloud was breaking up about half way along both Liathach and Beinn Eighe.

I didn't know there was a bridge (of sorts!) there - must be fairly close to the W end of Loch Clair. The path heading SW from Coulin Lodge is another nice way to approach this pair of hills.

Yes I didn't know anything of the 'pole bridge'...maybe it is very new? And it is up near to Loch Clair. Mel uses the Strava app? to record the journey etc. See the mickey mouse Map.
