It is not just the occasional resident in a remote dwelling that wishes to prevent people using a route because of a thoughless minority.

Interesting wee development locally to this, up by Mugdock Country Park a scene of locked gates and notices to deter folks from crossing into 'farmed land' owned by 'The Estate'.
Breaking news, probably worthy of it's own thread, I'll need to find out exactly what's being discouraged and to what degree.

I'm guessing that would be Stirling Council, same as this particular issue.

Thread resurrection.

I was passing here on my bike today and thought I would check and see how the gate here is looking. The gate was still padlocked but it isn't high. The fence to the right has collapsed and it's just a case of stepping over. I may use this route next time I'm at the Whangie. More pleasant than the usual out and back
