Does anyone know it he River Larig footbridge on the Stob a' Choin, from Inverlochlarig route has been repaired yet?
If not how easy is it to ford the river at that point.

I've only been up it when the bridge was still there but I guess you could use the bridge opposite Stob Breac and head up the forest track?

Thanks for the advice!
Might be worth a try, although getting out of the forest onto the hill may prove troublesome.

Have a look at Google satellite images - there are quite a few gaps/rides through the forestry on the W side of Glen Sgionie - failing that, it looks like following the Allt Sgionie all the way to the forest edge should work OK.

I took a look at Google Earth, thanks for the tip, that gives a more accurate view of the forest than the OS map.
I am now considering walking along southern bank of the river passing by Blaircreich, it looks like there are deciduous trees there before the dreaded Sitkas take over!
Just need to decide what day to go now.

From bitter experience I can say that following the Allt Sgionie to the forest edge is not much fun!

There is a deer fence with a stile to access the open hill but between the forest track and the fence is nothing but thick spruce and mud. This was a few years ago now but unless the forest has been felled I suspect it is still much the same.

Another learning experience!
I now know to search the forum entries better for answers.
This report doesn't show up on the main walk page describing the walk so I thought that was that.

Many thanks to Iain et al.

We changed the walk description in August 2020 to include the new bridge (previously it said you had to ford)
