Where I was in the Grampians the snow was down to about 850 metres. No problems higher up on the summits and ice axe and crampons stayed stowed, but anything above 975 metres might need some gear. There are snow showers forecast this week so expect some fresh snow on the very highest hills. It will be nice to salvage something from the lost winter - although I did get to wear my crampons in the Pentlands!

Good bit of cover up in Glen Coe and Black Mount just now. Camped Monday night. Had to bring the boots in the bag for a couple of hours in the morning to thaw them out..

Passed by Gorton. An idea of the current cover in the background.
