Slioch Snow cover

Slioch Snow cover

Postby Navvarr » Thu Apr 22, 2021 5:00 pm

I'm thinking of tackling Slioch tomorrow (23/04/2021).

Is there a need for crampons and ice axe or has most of the snow gone or thawing?

Any advice welcome.

Cheers

I would be surprised if you needed them: the steepest terrain that is high enough to still have snow is the section above the twin lochans, but this is south facing. These aspects were largely snow-free by the end of last week: http://torridonblog.sais.gov.uk/2021/04/end-of-season-2020-21/
