Military Exercises

The Navy are conducting Exercise Strike Warrior this month (May 2021).
I believe that as part of this there may be some disruption to GPS services, especially on the west coast.
Has anyone got any further details?

Should anyone be planning a wild camping trip up north, this means Cape Wrath will be used for live firing.
Closer to the Central Belt, so will the training area in the Pentlands.

I wonder what would happen if we joined in? Like that time someone shot firework rockets horizontally from a tube, discombobulating and confusing a submarine commander off the Isle of Skye...

There's info here
https://www.ofcom.org.uk/spectrum/information/gps-jamming-exercises
but I can't make sense of the technical talk.

Thanks for that. What's on the MoD website was Ok as far as it goes, but I couldn't find details of the GPS jamming.

Ultimately the technical details aren't all that important to hillwalkers - the important thing to know is whether there might be a problem in the approximate area you might be in. It sounds like it shouldn't be much of a problem to walkers.
