Second Blair question.

Second Blair question.

Does anyone know if there's a problem with access (i.e. getting into the ticketed estate) with crossing the road from this car park, through the big gate and following round outside the caravan site to the East Lodge car park?

I'm wanting to take three horses through so cattle grids or tiny gates would be a problem, too.

I've only gone straight on to come out by the station - I don't remember any issues with that bit, although I wasn't necessarily thinking like a horse...

It's listed as a core path in the Cairngorms National Park (see https://cairngorms.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/CorePathsPlanFinal150727.pdf and https://www.pkc.gov.uk/media/10928/Core-path-plan-map-4-Blair-Atholl-and-Glen-Garry/pdf/wmmap4blairAthollGlenGarry.pdf ) so I see no problem from an access rights point of view. I can't tell if it is horse-friendly or not, but if you don't get a definitive answer on this forum you could try contacting the estate, or the local visitor centre https://www.blairatholl.org.uk/

Google streetview actually goes right up the drive, so you can see the payment booth much further in, almost at the castle itself.

The only problem I had was getting away from the car park at all - I think I kept ending up back on the road by the lodge, instead of on the track going the other way. But that was just ineptness rather than any real problem on the ground.
