Beinn Loinne Kintail Summit Camp

Beinn Loinne Kintail Summit Camp

I was planning an overnighter on the summit of Beinn Loinne, Kintail. Haven't been up there before and was wondering if the area is mostly bog or are there a few suitable pitches there ?

Hi CJM Skye...I was on Beinn Loinne last summer on a lovely warm summer's day with my wife. We both commented that we wish we'd brought the tent as there were some lovely dry, mossy areas around the summit that would make an ideal spot for an overnighter...and with glorious views all round into the bargain. So I would say a definite yes, there are lots of nice dry spots around the summit to camp. I don't recollect passing any streams near the summit unfortunately so you'll probably have to lug your water in from much lower down. Hope that helps you... cheers, Gerry

Hi gerryc , thanks very much for that. I had seen the photo's from a few posts but couldn't make out whether it was boggy or not. Like you say the views look superb. Thanks again.

Agree with gerryc - I was up there a few weeks ago (did a walk report), and it is very boggy lower down ... but summit area was fine. You'll get great views waking up there!

Thanks gld73, I did read your post, not the best weather when you did it. From the reports I have seen although its not the biggest hill the views look superb.
