Whangie & Devils Pulpit

Whangie & Devils Pulpit

As parking at the Pulpit is such an issue, can anyone give me details of where to walk from the Queens View car park to the Devils Pulpit? Many thanks.

I wouldn't do that. There is no direct path. Stockiemuir Road is narrow, twisty, and busy between Queens View and the Pulpit.

I live in Milngavie, nearby so drive the road regularly. My suggestions. From Milngavie drive past the Pulpit to this layby here. Around 600M past.

Usually has spaces and avoids the parking scrum at the corner of Stockiemuir Road and the B834.

If you were parking further away a better option is around the junction of the B834 and A81.

The whole area has been double yellow lined. Any laybyes are sure to be full. I would suggest get a lift or a taxi or park near Killearn and walk down. It's only a mile or so

I would give the place a wide berth. I live locally and the whole area is now a complete mess. It is very dangerous to walk along the roads to and from the Devil's Pulpit. The place is horrendously over crowded and full of litter. There are plenty of more attractive, safer places to go.

Many thanks to all of you for your advice.
I went with my sisters on Tuesday, and it was brilliant.
Yes, it was hard to get a parking space, and yes, it was a dangerous descent, but I loved the gorge.
Followed it up with the Whangie.
Thanks again.
