Woooo!
And with some of the best forum participants, wildlife roadkill recipes and cannibalistic tendencies on the entire interweb!

Congrats! By 2009 your website is the reason I met Michelle who I would go on to marry:
https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=11937

Needless to say, you're extra special to us! Thanks for everything!

We have been living in the USA since 2011 and have traveled all over the world together.
We plan move Montana next year, close to Glacier National Park/Rocky Mountains. Maybe I'll even come out of trip report retirement and post some stuff similar to ChrisW? On his Canadian adventures.

Good to see some forum old timers still here,.particularly the legendary Caberfeidh. To this day when we see some old sea dog we wonder if it's him. Or if we see a remote shack in the middle of nowhere we joke it's one of his outposts

So yeah, the walking routes etc here are one thing, but your impact has gone way beyond that for me and many others. I believe you've hooked up a few marriages by this point!

And of course we can never forget the very first WH meet! Organized by the big man, Stretch.

Yes congratulations Walkhighlands and Happy birthday.🎂🥳🎉🎈🎁🎊

I first joined in late 2008 I think, before smartphones had become a big thing. We were at the tourist office in Ballachulish and got speaking and they told us they printed off walks from WH which I had never heard of. They printed off a short WH route for us to look at.
I looked them up later and joined and used it sporadically eventually forgetting my username and password. I still used it as a guest until I got a proper phone around 2012 and eventually in 2013 rejoined.

Sorry to see most of the original users / contributors fade away and many of the old reports or photos lost but the site is better than ever. If you are in an unfamiliar area in Scotland and looking for something to do for a couple of hours WH is the answer. Nothing else comes close.

All the best for many more walkhighland years :D
