I emailed the estate last Monday to enquire about walking on the Wednesday. I received a prompt reply saying it wouldn't be a problem as they were sheep gathering that day. I had a great day out with no problems.

Which estate?
Glen Lyon is a long glen, and includes land belonging to more than one estate. The Glen Lyon estate is generally Ok, but the Chesthill estate is notorious for not being very walker friendly.

It was the Chesthill estate I contacted.
