Had a wee look at some in our local area.....the two marked with crossings of the Luineag river coming out of Loch Morlich would present difficult crossings when the water is running high.

Yes, that would be challenging! I'm sure the map currently has a lot of paths where access does not apply, or which are infeasible on the ground, but the idea is that these eventually get weeded out by surveying. To be fair, one of the Luineag crossings is also marked as a path on the OS maps, too.

that is pretty bloody awesome!
i understand what you mean about the crossings.. i've followed a few 'paths' that led me to rivers i pretty much had to go above nutDeep.. ended up being barreled or just swam across.
i'm hoping deer fences are taken into account too.. but really what a marvellous thing to build on
