Meall Ghaordaidh - deer stalking issues?

Meall Ghaordaidh - deer stalking issues?

Postby denfinella » Sun Nov 14, 2021 10:37 pm

I know the main deer stalking season is over now, but am I likely to find any issues around Meall Ghaordaidh and Ben nan Oighreag (from Glen Lochay) at this time of year?

Nah. Even within stalking season the path from the south should be fine. Google Heading for the Scottish Hills and you should find all the stalking information that estates tend to offer.

Unfortunately the website seems to be down at the moment, but the relevant entry is:

Meall Ghaordaidh
South of summit: Boreland Estate. Stalking between
mid July and 20 Oct. No stalking on Sundays. The
main route via the south-east ridge from the roadside
sign just west of Duncroisk is always OK. If further
information is needed please phone 01567 829053.

Beinn nan Oighreag
South and east of summit: Boreland Estate.
Stalking between mid July and 20 Oct. No stalking on
Sundays. The route via the south ridge from the
roadside Meall Ghaordie sign just west of Duncroisk is
always OK. If further information is needed please
phone 01567 829053.

No suggestion you need to worry about it outside of the stag season.
