Was on Meall Tairneachan and Faragon Hill on Sunday and looked like Beinn a' Ghlo and surrounding area had had a decent amount too.

Brace yourselves for a flurry of horrible, tragic and avoidable accidents in the news as swarms of over-enthusiastic, under- experienced, would-be mountaineers throw themselves like lemmings from the hills... Or am I just being cynical...?

Hopefully anyone reading the MWIS forecast for tomorrow will get the message that it's really not a good day for the hills!

“Tortuous” - MWIS-speak for stay home.

I also note the ”MET office Aberdeen meteorologist view” on the Met’s forecast for SW Highlands has called the forecast into doubt: “ Mean speeds shown glen level look too low by 10-20mph.”

Never seen that before.

This weekends forecast is definitely one for a low level walk.

Or just stay in the pub…..

I drove up from the south this afternoon, up the A9. I've seen it a lot worse - the road was clear at Drumochter but very windy. There was a tree on the road near Crubenmore.

Worst of the snow near the Slochd with traffic very slow on the north side of the summit.

Very wild after dark here on the eastern edge of Stirling - possibly now starting to ease slightly, but not much. I've just (shortly before midnight) ventured out to the edge of the fields, about 200 yards away and open to the N and E, and could barely stand up straight when I got there. Nice and clear with a moon, though! Could see a light from someone either on the shoulder of Dumyat or in the Abbey Craig woods - not sure which.

Went round King's Park here - including its Tump! - just before dark and it was OK but not very pleasant. Have heard this evening from friends in Tranent and Kingsbarns and both have said it's been exceptionally wild out east.

I noticed the ben (Wyvis) was covered this afternoon BP.
I was along the Moray Coast.
No snow on the Bin Hill - but still a wee bit breezy. :D

We had a superb day in Glencalvie :D I think the far north/west of Scotland avoided most of the stormy weather.

I'm in Glasgopolis and it just got some strong winds blustering about, nothing much. I drove to Perth the day the storm arrived, it was nice and sunny when I set out but just a mile or two short of the fair city of Perth there was a wall of darkness with swirling snow, so I turned around and went home, figuring if I drove in I may not get out again. There are whole forests flattened on the east coast.
