I'd say a draw between Beinn Donachain in April (because it was my first proper hill day in over 6 months and the post lock-down relief was palpable as well as the fact that it was Luna's first proper hill outing and a cracking spring evening to boot) and Ciste Dubh and the Brothers Ridge in August because the inversions were out of this world. The day on the two Munros in Knoydart wisnae too shabby either! :D

For once, this is easy to choose.

A' Mhaighdean and Ruadh Stac Mor from the Dubh Loch in late May, in perfect weather, as part of our canoe and mountain adventuring.

Had some lovely local walks at sunrise and sunset too though.

The walk from Barrisdale to Kinloch Hourn in early June 2021 when the weather Gods smiled down on me and I got beautiful warm sunny conditions, and views like this.

The next day was cloudy, but a close contender was the short walk part way up Buidhe Bheinn.

I had a fine day out at Rogie Falls in January when the restrictions were tighter and many great days throughout the year.

One of my best days this year was in Torridon.

Favourite walk of 2021 though, has to be a walk over 2 days from Kinloch Hourn to Ladhar Bheinn and back, Why? - it's a fantastic approach to this hill, but the main reason is maybe - just because it's Knoydart!

On Ladhar Bheinn one fine July Evening 2021

Has to be the Cape Wrath Trail, as I have never done anything like that before. 8)

Great walk, great views. Weather was great and the surrounding landscape is one of the best I have seen.

Managed to finagle a day off on the Friday in April when lockdown ended. Meall nan Eun and Albannich would not be considered a classic, although a fine walk particularly with a decent amount of snow lingering. But on a lovely spring day it was glorious to just get out again. Not even the hydro works could spoil it...

An honourable mention has to go to the circuit of Stob Daimh and Beinn a'Bhuiridh on that weekend of the inversions in December. Never seen the like. Spent half an hour on the summit of Bhuiridh like it was a summer walk. Then froze making a brew at the car.

I'll have to say the Clyde Walkway, largely by default as not long after I did the Kelvin Walkway and developed plantar fasciitis so haven't been out since.

Did Stage 1 and 2 of the CW as day hikes with the intention of doing the remaining stages as WHW training and gear testing, that's now planned for the spring. Still, it was a lovely day, here's the view from the bridge at the David Livingstone Centre.

I'm with some of the other posters....

Highlights definitely include my first 'proper' walk/ run after lock down was released - the Abraham's Tea Round route in the Lake District. I got up at 3am to get over to Keswick. First time there in over 18 months.
30 miles, 3000m ascent on utterly deconditioned legs. It hurt (a lot) but in a totally beautiful longed for way. The relief of being back out there was indescribable.

And then without a doubt - the best cloud inversions EVER in December....for me on Carn Mor in Glen Dessary - Corbett 201.
What an incredibly special day!

In fact the Lake District Day was SO good I seem to have posted the same picture 4 times.

Although I have absolutely no idea how or why and I cannot rectify it.

Oh well....

Those cloud inversions must have been during that hideously dull period of anticyclonic gloom mid month. One of the dullest Decembers on record for the UK. It is bad when parts of SE England struggle to get the same amount of sunshine as the Shetland islands which has two hours less daylight per day in December.

A traverse of the Rum Cuillin in August. Blue skies with only goats and occasional deer for company. Where was everyone?

Even the sea was flat.
