I'm not a Top bagger, but visited about 50% of them just wandering up and down Munros, so here comes another list to tick off :D Thank you, Paul!

A small technical question: will Tops appear on the list of bagged hills under the avatar?

I love the amount of discussion this thread has started about Tom Dubh.

Truth be told, we should probably add them in a similar way to this, as an opt-in list add-on thingy once we've sorted this out. Not saying exactly when though!

I love the amount of discussion this thread has started about Tom Dubh.

I've been up that one twice, one of Scotland's finest

No, but it will on your blog / walk report homepage.

Thanks for this. It's a great addition to the site.

I sometimes refer to a site UK Hillwalking for the list of tops before they were added here. On UKH, they have an East and s West top listed under Beinn a'Chroin, as well as the Munro.

Both sites totals are 226, but l only see one top listed here under Beinn a'Chroin.

I have no idea which is correct but l thought l would mention it.

This is one of half a dozen errors in the UKH list. Beinn 'a Chroin West Top is the Munro (The East Top used to be the Munro, hence the mistake, most likely.)

According to hill-bagging there was a West Top, just west of the summit, but it's another deleted one.

I didn't need to record them, have barely considered which I've done before, but it is rather satisfactory to be able to tick 60+ new hills in one session!

Can I second this request? (I've done them all but by adding these to the forum it will at least massage my very limited ego..........)

Thanks Paul - as a proud Top Compleater I am a big fan of Tops - they give you a great excuse to revisit some great hills from different directions, Ben Avon, An Teallach, Liathach, Lochnagar, The Saddle, The Black Mount, Beinn Eighe etc, especially as you start to run out of winter or day walk Munros. In total I had 40 great walks mopping up Tops (ie walks with just Tops or with new Tops and repeat Munros.

I reckon the Bagging map you provide should show Munros or Munros & Tops, not Tops on their own, as most people will want to plan routes and trips that get both at the same time.

Keep up the great work on the website!

I agree, a great addition. After the munros the tops has got to be the 2nd most prestigious list! :D
Way ahead of the Grahams, Donalds & Wainwrights I would say.

The tops on Ben Nevis are fantastic places with great routes up to them and crowd free, usually completely free.

Càrn Dearg NW top is higher than the 9th munro!!!

On Càrn Dearg NW 1221m

Thanks all. Progress slowed a little as I decided having a 'Submit hills climbed' button (and 'Change region' button') was a pretty outdated design.

Your hill records are now updated as soon as you tick a box (and the region changes when you change the dropdown). Hopefully this makes it a bit more intuitive.
