Can't plot a route on map (GPS tab)

Can't plot a route on map (GPS tab)

Postby Stevehowarth » Mon Apr 11, 2022 12:31 pm

I've used the Ordnance Survey maps (via the GPS tab) on this site for many years, and have made frequent use of the ability to plot a route using my mouse (usually so that I can calculate the distance). I am suddenly unable to do this - clicking my mouse on the map no longer produces the blue line. Is anyone else having the same problem?

Seems okay for me, sometimes the first click or two didn't register though.

Yes. I'm having the same problem too. The curser doesn't give co-ordinates either.

Route planning not working

Postby bob156123 » Mon Apr 11, 2022 8:46 pm

Hi all,

The last couple of days when I have logged in I can access the 1:25 000 maps but it won't let me click and create a route as usual.

Is there an issue?

Same for me. The cursor doesn't give the coordinates for me either. I wonder if there has been some sort of software update. I notice that the tab at the very top of my screen now shows the "boot" logo, which it didn't before (until 3 or 4 days ago).

Update to my original post - the route planning function doesn't seem to work when I use Google Chrome as my browser, but it does work when I use Microsoft Edge.

Try hard refresh your browser - SHIFT+F5

The GPS planner is only for desktop as it requires a mouse.

Interesting. I've just tried to plot a route using Microsoft Edge as my browser, and everything is fine. However, I am still unable to use the route planner when using Google Chrome as my browser. I wonder if the other users who are having problems are also using Chrome.

ETA - Paul Webster's tweak worked! Thanks, Paul.

It's easier to be accurate with a mouse, but I've never had an issue getting rough distances with a touchscreen.

This took a couple of goes but worked, thanks Paul. NB I have never had this problem before.

It doesn't work on Microsoft Edge with me, but I tried plotting a route on Chrome... which works.
