Let it all hang out

Let it all hang out

Sunday on Eildon I was supporting an Endurance Rider. Suddenly, my space was encroached on by half a dozen naked ramblers. They were saggy and corpulent but had that rapt expression a vegan adopts as they prepare to share their lifestyle choice with you. I told them I didn't mind what they did as long as they didn't frighten the horses. It's a line I've always wanted to deliver, but they took it seriously and assured me the horses had nothing to fear from their wobbly bits (I paraphrase.)

I didn't feel like taking a picture, both from a respect for privacy and for aesthetic considerations. My riders came into view at that point so I took a snap of them. What this does not catch is the girlish laughter echoing across the lochan.

Incidentally, I've tended to wonder why the lochan doesn't appear on the OS. Evidently, it's a new creation, ten years ago it was but a puddle.

Wonder how many ticks they got on their list?

Shame about the body shaming,

I think it would be quite easy to catch a tick early on in that situation, no where for them to hide.

Sun protection would be my concern.

I'm still traumatised by wearing shorts for the Beinn Deargs in July last year. That was bad enough for cleg-related misery

I'm saggy and got a bit corpulent over lock down but I don't think it qualifies me for a scuddy hike. I'd be too worried about all the insects that want a bit of you and the laughter, of course.
Also the Rucksack would probably rub a bit and where would I put my sweeties?

I could hang my compass from them but I always used to get whacked in the face by the elastic.

Around 20 years ago, I was walking from Braeriach to Cairn Toul on a hot summers day. I thought I would divert on the way to follow the Dee from it's source to the top of the Falls of Dee. As I approached the cliffs, some movement caught my attention and not too far from the top of the falls, I saw a man, totally naked, rolling around on the snow covering the stream. I retreated discreetly and continued on my walk.

Glad I wasn’t there with children at the time.
