Inconsiderate B’s

Came across this scene at Grid NN 962 667 , Druim nan Aigeach on the 1:25,000 map. It’s about 1km SE of Shinagag looking over to the Beinn A’ Ghlo range. The fire was still smoking when I arrived there about 11.00 a.m. today and there were other beer bottles scattered about as well as a football!!! Surely if you can carry the tins and bottles in full you can take them out empty. It certainly spoilt my day seeing that. I’d like to say what I really think of these people but it would probably be censored.

Welcome to don't-give-a-toss UK. There is a subset of society that believe anything goes if they can get away with it, and unfortunately they frequently do.

Take some solace from the fact that they will be scummy people, and given that , their life will be a bit shyte.

Sadly this is why places like Loch Lomond need to have restrictions, and so many places are restricting access. Covid made so many people go to places they wouldn't go to normally because they couldn't go abroad as well.

I posted about it a while back but my local park (Chatelherault Country Park near Hamilton) has had to put up signs banning overnight camping. As these are only in the carparks I assume it's the same problem, people drinking and BBQing then not cleaning up after themselves.

I was walking in the Lamermuir Hills this weekend and at a notable archaeological site came across a similar thing. A beautiful location with a spectacular view. Only this time apart from the fire ring there were a couple of wine bottles one of which was still half full. I've taken to always having a plastic back in my rucksack to remove such items.

St. Andrews beaches would be like that were it not for the efforts of the rangers who come along and clean up. It isn't ALL students, but it doesn't help having a lot of late teens around. ...though it is often their generation who are keenest on saving the planet.

I am not saying this is why people should need a license to breed, but you know...

Not a place where you would come across hillwalkers.....but a couple of small Lochains and a supply of wood close by....non angelic anglers perhaps?

There's a general (and lazy) theory that most of these situations are caused by "schemies" and "neds" however I rather suspect a lot of these examples of littering are left behind by kids from relatively well-off/very well-off families simply because they are used to having "other people" to deal with stuff for them.

Aye selfish idiots that will give authorities a reason/excuse to restrict our right to roam.

That's a fairly remote spot for the dirty campers. :(

You’re right when you say it’s a fairly remote spot, however, I can’t agree with Gaffr who says it’s not a place where you would come across hill walkers. You could certainly use it to head up to Crochton, Creag nan Gobhar and then up to the summit of Ben Vuirich. Also, what the hell was I doing there. Sorry, but you don’t have to be at the top of a Munro to be hillwalking.

Well, when the so called "leaders" (and I cannot stress how reservedly I use that word) at the very top of "don't give a toss UK" believe this, then what hope is there for the plebs!

As a secondary school teacher with daily experience of this very demographic, I think I can safely say you may have hit the proverbial nail on the head sir!

Hello Jim777...I must have thought that I was heading out for a Munro all those years ago  ...I did bypass the buildings close to the area of the Lochans.
A by the way, when I returned to Loch Moraig there was a vehicle with CandDo lettering on the side...organisers of walks in the hills. Do they still conduct their business.
