Lossiemouth to Buckie - entirely or partially inaccessible?

Lossiemouth to Buckie - entirely or partially inaccessible?

Postby BlueNo4 » Sat Jun 11, 2022 4:01 am

Well as long as I'm begging (and hopefully not exhausting) your patience, I thought I'd see what someone(s) might be able to tell me about this.

I see that for the Lossiemouth to Buckie stage of the Moray Coastal Trail, there's a warning saying: "The bridge to the beach is closed, making the walk inaccessible. A new bridge is under construction in 2022."

Is that to say, then, that the whole stage of the trail is unavailable, or could one improvise around the unavailable parts with a little ingenuity?

Here's the webpage, in case you'd like to see it:

Thanks again,

If you zoom right in on the map, it looks like the official route is (or was) taking a detour over a different bridge anyway!

Sorry, the page description and photo - which describes and shows the new bridge! - had been updated as I visited the day after opening day to do this, but I hadn't removed the warning box. It's gone now.

On the map, our blue route line shows the route going over the new bridge location (even though the new bridge itself isn't shown on maps).
