Help re Access / Parking

Postby Jim777 » Wed Jun 22, 2022 4:06 pm

Started out this morning with the intention of going to Struan at the start of Glen Errochty to go up on to Struan Point and then along the ridge to Meall a’ Chathaidh. There appear to be no parking places near Struan and the area appears covered in new deer fences. Anyone been there before, any info would be much appreciated. Cheers.

Parking does look tricky - this doesn't help much https://cairngorms.co.uk/resource/docs/publications/20112012/CNPA.Paper.1859.Atholl%20Trails.pdf
so you may have to park in Calvine and walk along the road.
Hard to see the section between Struan Point and the trig point being especially rewarding - most of the records on https://www.hill-bagging.co.uk/mountaindetails.php?qu=S&rf=4598 take the shortest route from the west.

Thanks jmarkb - probably not a lot to see up there but I was actually wanting to go up to photograph some March stones along the ridge separating Atholl Estates from Robertson of Auchleeks. Will maybe just have to walk from Calvine.😢😢
