Glen Scaddle by bike

Glen Scaddle by bike

Am planning on climbing Stob Mhic Bheathain via Glen Scaddle rather than Cona Glen. Is it possible to use a bike as far as Tighnacomaire, perhaps using the track through the forest?

Been up Geln Scaddle on 2 successive days. Weren't very strong cyclists and the first day the wind was too strong to attempt cycling, the 2nd we cycled in for 6 miles and guessed it would be lumpy beyond. Our first day we did Druim Learthaid nam Fas which is on the way to where you want to be. From what I can remember the track was cycleable at least until there, but as we were walking, we didn't experience it.

I've cycled up as far as the bothy at Tighnacomaire.
Relevant part is the final day in this report and comment from it below which may help.
Unloaded the bike and set off up the track to the private bothy at Tighnacomaire. The track is quite loose in places and there are a lot of ups and downs; it took me quite a lot longer than expected before arriving at the bothy and there’s only about 100m net gain in height.

Was there three weeks ago and rode beyond Tighnacomaire. There is some climb within the forest - up to 150m just after the break followed by a steepish descent to the river. There are only minor ups and downs within this and the return journey is very easy.

The road is being upgraded and work was taking place around the forest entrance. The trees will be on their way soon so that will become an issue in the coming year or so. After the works the road is rough, but fine on a mountain bike.

Only think that ruined it for me were the clegs.
