Ben Ledi on Sunday

Ben Ledi on Sunday

Postby Frogwell » Tue Dec 20, 2011 12:28 am

Ben Ledi looked busy as I flew past on Sunday. Anyone from here recognise themselves?

And a few others from the same doodle. Had the wind been a few mph greater I'd have opted for walking up a Corbett in the last picture. Anyone want to hazard a guess which one?

Again, as on Facebook, the last Ledi picture I'd almost put on my wall..

The last pic looks like Uamh Bheag, but I think it's a Graham :D

Blimey, I didn't expect anyone to spot Uamh Bheag so easily - I thought people would spot the main Munro of the picture first. Although I suppose given the previous photos were of Ledi and that the last photo has all the windmills on it might not have been so hard to work it out from that. As you say though, it's a Graham, but know that should make it a whole lot easier to work out which Corbett I'd been eyeballing.

So much for that competition! I suppose I shouldn't be surprised it was got so easily, given this is a hill walking forum. You win (the right to buy yourself) a bottle of value label whiskey - Tesco probably has some on offer :)

Aah, you're so kind! :D
Hope you get to enjoy Meall na Fearna soon: if you have the time/energy/weather it's good to link it up with the SE ridge of Ben Vorlich.

Oops, not so smart after all!!

I'll sit down in my place. hehe ;)

These aerial shots make great unconventional scenes. I remember Colin Baxter did the aerial thing for the calenders but I don't think he saw it's full potential.

I had some friends who were on Ledi on sunday in a group of exactly 7 so I would hazard a guess that was them. I have sent the link to the thread.

Such a different viewpoint! Brilliant photos.

When I was up Vorlich a few months ago I liked the look of the ridge from Meal na Fearna, but I know that with consistently late starts I would not have time to do both in winter conditions in these short days. One day I keep hoping I'll turn into one of these people who is so organsised they're at the start of their walk before the sunrise. Never happens though, day after day I remain a little bit rubbish.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I used to get up very early but only when I had a baby who didnt sleep. it's 6ft 2 now and doesnt get up itself. I'd love to be a morning person but I'm just not.

Great pictures as ever. I keep saying it but I really need to take my DSLR with me on the hills.

excellent photos from an unusual viewpoint Frogwell. Are you in a microlight or paraglider?
