Excellent result, know how you must have felt, I lost my black Labrador Lackie whilst walking in the woods with the kids, had to abandon search due to failing light, take the kids home and return to search in the dark.
Luckily I could hear a faint bark when I called him, managed to find him in and old culvert or shaft don't know what it was.
had some job getting him out myself but the relive was...... When we got home the two of us were the same colour.

Fantastic news , read page 1 , was half way to calling the wife to come out and support tomorrow if still needed then jumped to the great news later in thread ! :o

I dont have a dog of my own but have seen the love between owners and dogs and certainly had had great times growing up around some amazing hill walking mutts so Ican timagine how hard it was to leave but also massive respect for maiking the only sensisble decision to do so!.

well done all - aye how about a pic of the rescuee in question

Carlsberg don't do specialist dog rescue services, but if they did!...

I cannot thank enough nor praise enough the efforts of Andy, Spider and Ross today in what was extremely foul conditions.

We managed to find her near to where she was last seen, but stuck down a very deep and narrow slot. Remarkably she was completely unhurt apart from her pride I guess lol!

Ross managed to take some rescue action photos as the drama unfolded so will post them as soon as he uploads them to his computer.

Again thanks for all the moral support from WHfolk and a big thanks to the generous member who offered to pay for everyones fuel costs. The boys were grateful but have declined the offer and would prefer to see the money donated to MRT. I agree and will match the donation.

Shona my GF would like me to extend her thanks to everybody who helped and wished us well today. Bracken is her Springer while I have charge of Alfie. She was distraught last night but elated today!

Finally I'd just like to warn people of the terrain on this innocent looking Corbett. Todays melt exposed even more slots and cavities than were visible in yesterdays snow. These holes drop into the mountain and can easily take a human being as well as a dog. Please don't take your dog onto this hill when there is snowcover. I don't plan on taking either of my dogs back to Ben Donich even in summer, those cavities are everywhere above 650m.

THANKYOU FOR ALL YOUR GOOD WISHES, ERIC.
